Since I was halfway through my degree program, instead of calling it a quit I went on to completing it. A Carpenter Decides To Create A Special Gift For His Wife! – The Result Is A Labor Of Love! (video)

Starting my DIY jewelry box for my wife’s birthday. I started with a drawing to help me when it is time to start carving.

ID: 526

I started with a drawing for the faces of the box.

So my wife’s birthday was approaching, and I initially thought about a diy jewelry dish as a gift.

However, I tossed that gift idea because it was much too simple and required not much effort. Now I knew she hinted at a diy wooden countertop (creative home ideas), but I felt that whatever gift I gave it had to before exclusively since she does so much for all of us at home and yes I tossed that idea out too! I remembered reading a blog on one of my fellow carpentry friends where he had these valentine home ideas that somehow included a jewelry box. So I decided maybe this is what I needed to make for my wife. It wasn’t going to be any ordinary jewelry box either; this gift will take all of my skill and patience to get it right (diy mom birthday gifts).

So I started with a drawing of some cursive leaves, the ones from the Victorian era. I used tracing paper to keep my lines tight so I can avoid any issues when it was time to carve those pieces out. Now, guys, I have to do this process four times, and since this chest wasn’t the smallest, it took a lot of patience to get through that task. It wasn’t even the hardest part (the drawing that is). The hardest part was carving out the stencil from the pieces of wood, that took me at least two days to complete, and I had to take my time because one wrong move of the chisel and I would have to do the entire face of that part of the jewelry box all over. After cutting out of the designs, I had to get the dark wooden background ready since contrast was necessary for this gift to look good and deliver on what I wanted her to have which was quality! I chose a rich dark wood and cut out the arch for the cover and hollowed out the inside of the chest. Using PVA glue and clamps, I secured the designs to the body of the box and left it to dry for 24 hours. Next, I cut out small pieces of tan leather and screwed them into the sides of the jewelry box after I sprayed and varnished the chest. Please know that I am oversimplifying the process because I feel like you would benefit best by watching the tutorial on how I actually got it finished. I don’t want you all to become discouraged when it comes to making the people in your life happy nothing is too much. My wife loves her present, and that in itself made this a worthwhile project.

~blanket~ Your Life In Awesomeness 365 Days A Year.

These simple home decor ideas for throw blankets challenge the status quo. Gone are days when we shoved everything into a drawer, now we can lean a ladder against the wall and grab what we want effortlessly.

Simple home decor ideas for storing throw blankets.

I loved cottage style home decorating ideas, and it’s mostly because I like being indoors.

It has always been essential for me to have all of my senses are gratified with whatever rustic chic home decor ideas I chose to employ. For my sense of smell, my usual go-to would be to simmer some spices over the stove. Like cloves, apples, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla. The house smells so amazing when it gets to boiling. On days when I just need some stress relief, I gravitate towards my oil diffuser, and the scent of eucalyptus permeate every room, that’s how great my diffuser is. Not to mention, it looks like an ordinary wooden vase so when it is not in use it serves a whole other home decor purpose!

For those colder months:

Try using shag rugs on the floors; they are much more comfortable than a woven option in my opinion. Throw blankets keep you and your family warm and toasty. I prefer faux fur, velvet or flannel or maybe one texture on each side, that’s entirely up to you! However, if you don’t have a fireplace, you can create the same atmosphere by utilizing an electric version that even gives the illusion of logs burning! Now not everyone likes to wear socks indoors so also having some lined slip-on shoes or slippers can significantly increase your level of comfort when you slip out from under those warm covers.

Fall comforts:

The ottoman, large or small can be attained by using some old textured sweaters stuffed with cotton and stitched up. If that is not your style find a floor sofa and strategically place it under a window where you can just unwind and relax. To complete the whole zen-like feel – light up your scented soy candles. Put them in colored jars for muted candlelight effects; these jars are mostly available in thrift shops since they lean more towards a vintage home decor style.

These are just a few ideas that I have laid out here for you, follow my youtube channel for more ways on how to make your space more comfortable. I look forward to hearing about some of your ideas as well so please use the comment section to reach out! Happy seasonal decorating to all!

By Using Only Popsicle Sticks And Glue, She Makes A Diy That Will Shock You!

home decor diy ideas that were inspired by popsicle sticks. You can get these sticks from almost any art store!

ID: 460

home decor diy ideas. | One box of popsicle sticks (you will need at least 100).

Popsicle sticks have been used in many (creative home ideas) projects. I think I was given my

first popsicle craft project
when I was about five years old, and I made the best fan you ever saw! Today our home design project is brought to you by a box of popsicle sticks, fast drying wood glue, acrylic paint or wood stains and a simple hexagon template (decorating home ideas on a budget). The good thing about this home decor idea is that you can take it anywhere your creative juices feel compelled to flow. You can choose my process and improve on it (smart home ideas) and make the project your own; it is that versatile a project people!

Okay, so you first want to get a nice flat surface to place your template, then you want to have all your supplies close at hand and ready to be used. I mean that you don’t want to be trying to get a stick out of the box and your glue is drying out on the sticks you know what I mean? Alright, so now that we have made everything readily available, it is time to begin. Start by placing three popsicles sticks on the frame of the hexagon template as shown in the video. Next, after you have lined that up to get your glue ready and put a little glue on the ends of the sticks that are opposite each other (we want to have both ends of the popsicle sticks stuck to the base of separate popsicle sticks). You will repeat this process until all of your one hundred popsicle sticks are used.

Now it is time to get creative; I mentioned that you acrylic paints for these frames I find that this medium works best in nurseries and kids playrooms. My choice for this living room called for a dark wood stain, and I stained over and over until I achieved the desired darkness I wanted. Put the frame to dry before you mount it on your walls. Another good thing about this project is that the sticks are very light and doesn’t cause damage to the walls so that a simple 3M wall hook would suffice fine. If you want to get fancy, you can also paint inside of the frame to add some depth and character to your popsicle stick wall shelf. I know that this was ridiculously easy to do and if you want to comment, please do so in the comment section and share the video with your friends!

I Was Shocked When I Saw What He Made Out Of His Used Woods And Hammer!

You don’t need to be living in the woods to have this log home decor be apart of your own interior decorating. I will show you how to create this in 1,2,3!

I will show you all how to make! | log home decor

Of all the things I have made, shelves have been constant and the simplest of them all,

I wanted to take it up a notch and keep it simple but make a shelf that was more creative than any other shelf I have ever made (new home decor ideas). This wall shelf/coat rack will be made out of some old pallets and hammerheads, yup HAMMERHEADS. It would fit in with my country rustic decor I already had going on you know? (rustic home decorating ideas) and I really want to share with you how easy it is to do. So let’s get started with this weird coat rack already! I bought three hammers from all home designs store up the block for less than $5.00 each, then I used some pieces of old pallet wood I had left over from another rustic home design project that I had worked on earlier, some wood glue, a box of 3″ screws and a drill.

I started by cutting the heads off of the hammers leaving enough of the body attached to the head so the screws can be drilled in easily. I put them aside and started on the shelf (main body). The pallet wood was measured and cut down according to the designated space on my wall; I ended up with three longer pieces and three shorter pieces, these shorter pieces were glued to two of the longer pieces and then screws reinforced the bonding. The other longer piece of pallet wood was glued and screwed on to the longer side of the boards (this is the shelf area). I thought if I am going to be putting hammerheads on this I might need additional support for the thing. So I cut two pieces of steel and affixed it to each side of the shelf/coat rack, I added some clear coating and set it aside to dry. Now it was time to pick up our hammerheads and drill holes for the screws as well as drill holes on the coat rack to hold the hammerheads in place on the coat rack itself. For this adjustment, I used a three-inch screw and larger washers to secure them from the back of the shelf (they were very heavy!) Finally I added a couple of D-rings to the back of the coat rack so I could hang it on the wall and now it’s a unique wall shelf and coat rack that everyone asks me about when they come to visit me.
